Little known pro-life victories are happening on a regular basis at the UN that see the Trump administration stymying abortion proponents in the UN bureaucracy and the abortion-loving Europeans. The latest victory, partial and incomplete at this moment, occurred in debates about humanitarian assistance. The Europeans want to use humanitarian crises as vehicles to advance access to abortion. The Trump administration doesn’t think that is such a good idea. The showdown is set for the General Assembly this fall. Stefano Gennarini, J.D. and Lisa Correnti report.
There is another battle over abortion that is going on in the U.S. Congress over funding for foreign operations. The Democrats are trying to halt various pro-life wins of the Trump administration and have submitted amendments to a spending bill to do it. The result is unclear and will be decided in the coming weeks. Lisa Correnti reports.
